She witnesses the battle between the Japanese Liberation Front and the Britannian Army, which Zero ends by detonating the Japanese Liberation Front freighter, thus killing all personnel on board. Suzaku attacks Zero in their respective Knightmare Frames. Zero is forced to emergency eject and he lands within reach of Shirley. Shirley prepares to shoot Zero in revenge for her father's death but hesitates when Zero's mask falls off and reveals Lelouch's face.
