Mao reappears to capture Nunnally and hold her hostage in the Ashford Academy undergrounds with a bomb. Lelouch and Suzaku work together to infiltrate the place. They manage to save Nunnally after a chess game with Suzaku's physical adeptness and the clever use of Lelouch's Geass on himself. Mao reveals a part of Suzaku's dark past before Lelouch uses Geass on him to shut him up. C.C. shows up to shoot and kill Mao.
